Stolen (2012) is a solid, straightforward action thriller that delivers exactly what it promises. Nicolas Cage is in his element here, bringing his usual intensity to a role that keeps the stakes high and the energy flowing. The movie doesn’t try to be revolutionary, it leans into familiar tropes like desperate missions and a ticking clock, but it does so in a way that keeps you entertained. The New Orleans backdrop adds a bit of flair, even if it’s not fully utilized, and Simon West’s direction ensures the pacing rarely drags. While the story feels predictable at times, the action sequences are well-executed, and the performances, especially Cage’s, keep the film engaging. The villain might feel a bit over-the-top, but it fits the movie’s tone if you’re up for something a little campy. Stolen isn’t a groundbreaking film, but it’s fun, fast-paced, and delivers just enough thrills to be worth the watch. Not Cage’s best, but definitely entertaining for fans of his work.
