Visually lavish wannabe John Woo western. The cast is great but the meandering story and overuse of 'blur-fu' (obligatory in HK cinema at the time) make this a less than stellar 'farewell' film from Chow Yun-Fat to Asian film-making. Of course, he would be back five years later with CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON
