A Korean series defined by wonderful performances from its cast, let down to a degree by the story and characterisations. Wonderful World is one of those series, that succeeds in spite of its shortcomings. This is in large part due to the excellent performances handed in by the lead actress and the rest of the cast. Their efforts bring this tale of loss, revenge and redemption to life. Where it falls down in no small part, is the overly melodramatic and excessively sentimental handling of both the story and the characterisations, that swing between syrupy sentimentality and elaborate anguish, at times to the point of farce. This has the effect of undermining the credibility of this series, so its really to the credit of the cast that they make the whole thing "work". In summary, predominantly watchable because of the quality of acting. Let down somewhat by heavy handed melodrama and cloying sentimentalism.
